CorGGLE offers participants:

  • Approximately 9 weeks of research and training (June 9- August 9, 2024)

  • A stipend/award of $6,300

  • A round-trip travel stipend for students living outside of Ithaca, NY

  • A double room in a residential hall with a meal plan

  • A campus bus pass or campus parking pass

  • Optional field trips to New York City, Niagara Falls, and other sites

  • Access to state-of-the-art laboratories, libraries, computer/study lounges, etc.

Further, CorGGLE participants will:

  • Develop a meaningful research agenda and conduct research with a faculty research mentor who has been trained in mentorship by the Cornell Diversity Programs in Engineering office

  • Learn about careers in the geosciences and professional skills through weekly lunches, presentations, and social activities

  • Present a scientific research talk

  • Design a research poster and discuss their poster presentation of their research at a symposium on campus

  • Submit a written report at the end of the summer research activity that may lead to a publication
