Integrated Quantum-Classical Micro-Systems (IQCs) Lab

Combining Integrated Electronics, Electromagnetics, and Quantum Engineering

Malek Succar

Malek Succar is originally from Beirut, Lebanon where he studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at the American University of Beirut (AUB) with a focus on RF/EM, computer hardware and applied physics. As an undergrad, he won a grant to pursue research in spintronics on spin wave excitations in spin hall nano-oscillators. He was also a research intern in the Scalable Quantum Research Lab at UW Seattle working on the design of optical setups for the control of trapped ion qubits. He joined the IQC lab in Fall 2023, where he is working on cryogenic integrated systems for quantum computing. His research interests also include silicon photonics, optical interconnects and microwave engineering for classical and quantum computing and communications. In his free time, he likes to learn Mandarin, explore Ithaca and NYC and meet new people.
