Here is a list of ongoing events we hold in the department.
Wine and Cheese
This is a yearly event held every Fall to welcome the new PhD students in the department. It is attended by ORIE field members, staff, and graduate students. Typically we go around introducing all of the new students, and announcing what research topics students are interested in.
Picnics
This is a twice-yearly event held every Fall and Spring. It is attended by ORIE field members, staff, and graduate students. It is typically hosted at local state park (either Buttermilk or Treman). The department provides hot dogs, burgers, and sides, and everyone else brings food potluck style.
Big Red Barn Party
This is a yearly event held every March. It is attended by ORIE field members, staff, and graduate students. There is the annual first year skit performance where the first years design an approximately ten minute long skit to present to everyone else in the department.
