GENDER EQUITY IN TECH STARTS HERE
Break Through Tech New York’s goal is to create new doors of opportunity into the tech field for young women. To do that we need your help to incent, encourage, and make it possible for them to walk in the door of that first Introduction to Computer Science course. We need to teach that class in a way that gets them excited and allows them to see themselves as ‘belonging’ to the field. Break Through Tech is here to support any and all faculty that want to support this effort.
We offer grants to faculty that want to work on programs to recruit and retain female students and grants to support curriculum innovation with the goal of increasing female participation.
We run faculty workshops each year to share best practices both at CUNY and across the nation.
