Summer Guild
INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION OF WOMEN IN TECH
Each summer, Break Through Tech hosts a free, exciting learning opportunity for students starting their first or second year at CUNY. In just one week, students develop their own website and explore coding, product design, and user experience research. Summer Guild also builds a community of like-minded students through small classes and team projects. No previous experience with computer science is required to participate.
COVID-19 Update
Break Through Tech is closely monitoring the development of COVID-19 in NYC and surrounding areas. The health, safety and well-being of our community is our top priority, and we are working closely with CUNY and Cornell Tech officials to follow official guidance from health officials.
All Summer Guild sessions in July and August will be held virtually.

Who should apply?
You should apply! Are you a current CUNY student? Will you be a CUNY student in the fall? Are you curious about technology and coding? Are you looking to join a supportive community across CUNY?
Break Through Tech works at the intersection of academia and industry to propel more underrepresented women into higher education and careers in tech. We welcome all applicants from underrepresented groups in tech to apply.
Applications for Summer Guild 2020 are now closed. All applicants will hear back by the end of May. If you have any questions, email us at breakthroughtechny@cornell.edu.
I came into the program not knowing what path I wanted to take…and, though it was only a week, I can say I’ve learned so much and now I know that I want to major in computer science…“
