Xin Bing is the 5th year Ph.D. student in the Department of Statistics and Data Science at Cornell University, under the joint supervision of Florentina Bunea and Marten Wegkamp. Before joining to Cornell, he received a BS in Mathematics in 2013 from Shandong University, China and an MS in Statistics in 2016 from University of Washington, Seattle.

His research interest generally lies in developing new methodology with theoretical guarantees to tackle modern statistical problems such as high-dimensional statistics, low-rank matrix estimation, multivariate analysis, model-based clustering, la- tent factor model, topic models, minimax estimation, high-dimensional inference, statistical and computational trade-offs. He is also interested in applications of statistical methods to genetics, neuroscience, immunology and other areas.
