Congratulations to Ronnie Clements, a Ph.D. candidate, on successfully completing his preliminary exam. The title of Ronnie’s proposed dissertation work is “Layered Axiology: Research Values in an Engineering Research Center.” His research will examine how research values are communicated (or not) to graduate students and how those messages shape research values and foci. He hopes that this and future work will help to highlight how graduate students and early career researchers navigate these value systems and find harmony or dissonance between their own axiology and that of the engineering research enterprise.
