Congratulations to Kevin Jay Kaufman-Ortiz, a Ph.D. candidate, on successfully completing his preliminary exam. His study titled, “Engineering colonial migrants from the U.S. territories working on the contiguous United States: A Phenomenological Exploration of Acculturation within the U.S. Empire” focuses on understanding the experiences of the engineering workforce who have to migrate from U.S. territories to the contiguous United States to identify environments that support identities and motivations of engineers adapting to a new environment.
