What are the semi-finals?

The semi-finals for each selected semi-finalist team is a 1-hour online event where half the time the team presents and half the time the teams receive feedback from the judges.

How do teams benefit from becoming a semi-finalist?
First and foremost teams that are selected as semi-finalists have the best chance of being invited to special job and internship interviews with our sponsors.

Independently, many past teams report that the expert feedback they received from the semi-finals judges was one of the most valuable parts of the entire experience and made the biggest positive impact on their project–helping them in turn to get great jobs and go on to earn other great achievements.

Many teams also report that the free design guides really helped them achieve a level of professionalism in their projects that they never even knew about before.

What should semi-finalists present?
Semi-finalists should present on their progress so far and their anticipated plans & achievements for the finals in May. Check out the Semi-Finals Judging Criteria for more details.

Do you have any good presentation tips?
A presentation is never about what you want to say. It’s about what your audience needs to hear. Be sure to check out the Semi-Finals Judging Criteria. Plus we have some additional presentation tips available on the resources page.

How do I make good design decisions?
