UW-Madison Opportunities in Engineering Conference Application Still Open

The College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for the 2021 Opportunities in Engineering Conference (OPPS). OPPS is an opportunity for outstanding undergraduate juniors and seniors to visit the UW-Madison campus and explore graduate programs in engineering. The conference will be held from Wednesday, November 17th through Sunday, November 21st, 2021.

The conference will include presentations on research, funding for graduate school, the graduate application process, and career options with graduate degrees in engineering. Students will have opportunities to meet with faculty and tour campus facilities, the University of Wisconsin campus, and the broader Madison community. Additionally, participants will network with current engineering graduate students and PhD alumni.

For those selected to participate in OPPS, all travel and lodging will be covered as well as meals on Wednesday night, and all-day Thursday and Friday. Students from traditionally underrepresented racial/ethnic groups, first-generation students, and students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Programming will be relevant to students interested in pursuing advanced degrees in engineering with a diverse support network of peers and professional development opportunities.

In addition to sending an unofficial transcript or grade report and one faculty reference, all applicants must complete the online application available here. Deadline to apply is Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:59PM CT. Applicants must have a 3.0 or higher undergraduate GPA. The application process is competitive, and applicants will be notified by October 15th, 2021.
