Preprint on efficient laser-based gate configurations

Aditya’s theory work on standing-wave-based configurations for trapped-ion entangling gates based on stimulated Raman transitions is posted as a preprint: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2509.05271

The calculations presented predict that power requirements, a major challenge in practice for high-fidelity laser-based gates, can come down by an order of magnitude (and more in some parameter regimes) through use of simple spatially structured drive schemes. This work may point to interesting potential for stimulated Raman operations in structured light profiles more generally.
